The gun is not really designed to hold a scope. The barrel has no way of holding a scope rail. You would have to drill holes in the barrel to mount one. a pistol scope would also be required and it would out cost the price of the gun many times over. a regular rifle scope would not work. So I suggest that this not be attempted. But it's your pistol.

I think the .17HMR would be a better choice all around, I have both and the 17HMR is better by far. The .22 bullet travels about 900'-1300' FPS and the .17HMR travels at 2200'- 2500 FEET PER SECOND.

Most will have two parallell grooves on the top of the reciever for a basic .22 scope. A decent 4 power scope would be the Barska 4 power, 20mm scope available on line from Walmart for about $21 (including shipping). This includes the mount that clips into those two grooves. Without the scope i would say around $180 or so new. Used i usually see them going for $150 but it depends on how old the gun is and which model. But used i would say anywhere from $100-$160
