When you Plug somthing in, you can get a Deluxe adaptor with 2 plugs pluged in that adaptor you migt just need to Connect out side with a string leading to the other persons house (or negihebor freinds)

If for instance you have a PC connected to the internet with an ethernet cable at a cable modem you can unplug the ethernet cable to the PC at the modem and Plug in a ethernet cable from the PS3 to the modem and a connection to the internet is possible. If the PC and PS3 are close enough you can just unplug the PC ethernet cable at the PC and move it over to the PS3. The first time you do this you need to go to the PS3 network setting and auto set the network settings. When you are done using the PlayStation 3 you just unplug the ethernet cable for the PS3 from the modem and plug the PC cable back into the modem for the PC to go back online or switch the cable back if it was close enough. When you get tired of doing this just purchase a router and plug the PS3 and PC into the router and plug the router into the modem.

I don't Think You'll be able to do that without a cable or router you can get a cable from about 45m for around $30AU. Another thing is that you could try to move the dsl modem upstairsbut oh well. i use a router,i got it about $90-$100AU.

In the back of the router there are spots for ethernet cables only one is a input and that comes from the modem and should be connected. There should also be 4 or more outputs and one then gets connected to the computer. You will need to buy more ethernet cables. Internet comes from your DSL modem and you need to disconnect your computer to allow the router to be installed. Your computer and anything else is then connected to the router
