I would think that if you fall in love with one gender then a sexual attraction would grow out of that love. I experienced this just a couple months ago, actually. A year ago I thought I was gay (male) and dated a guy and 'messed around' (no penetration though). I wasn't incredibly turned on by oral sex from a guy. But, I thought I had love for him. After about a month of going out, we broke it off and I was single again, battling with my sexual identity. After meeting my current girlfriend (of 8 months) I had fell in love at first sight, one of those "Can't explain it" things. After a bit of going out, I started to look at her butt and get turned on. Then at her chest. Then at...other parts. After 'messing around', this time more adventurous than with him. I had a major clarification. I had truly discovered what turned me on. Ever since then, I still don't really look at big busty girls and get turned on, but my girlfriend...lets say, definitely knows which buttons to press.
So, not to gross you out or anything, but I could only answer through explaining myself. I believe that if you are in love with one gender then you will develop a sexual attraction to couple your emotional attraction. However, you have to look at your own situation.
