only adult pads and system
Don't use Child AED pads on an Adult.
You chose the size of the AED pads by the size of the adult.
The adult AED pads can only be used on adults or children over 8 years old or 55 pounds. Otherwise, the child pads must be used.
Any adult AED pad, as long as it is compatible with the AED, will be OK.
Correct.
Insure there is no pulse before you attach the pads to the victim.
The answer is no. The way the Automated External Defibrillators (AED) are set up today you can only plug in one set of pads into the machine at a time; either the children pads or the adult pads.
Insure there is no pulse before you attach the pads to the victim.
It is not recommended that child pads be used on an adult; but it appears in the latest ECC 2010 conference there is leeway in using adult pads on children. If for example no other pads are available nor will be available for a period of time I would use them on an adult..... what choice, in reality, would I have?
