YES, Just loosen the passenger side bed bolts until they almost come out then stop. Then take the drivers side bed bolts all the way out. Unplug the wireing harness for the rear lights then raise drivers side of the bed up as high as it will go and then be SURE TO BLOCK / BRACE the bed so it won't fall on you. Now remove the fuel sending unit from the top of the tank.
Yes you do if it is not a pick-up truck. But if it's a truck then you can take the bed loose and raise it up enough to get the pump out of the tank.

The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. the easiest way to me to replace the fuel pump is to pull the bed off, now you will need help to do this. Another way which is much harder for me to do , is to drop the gas tank and change it out and put in back.
