A negative business letter is any document which generates a one sided benefit at the expensive of the other party. An ideal business letter always proposes a win-win solution.

Additional information:

A negative business letter would be a letter using negative terminology or a business letter that delivers bad news.

Negative terminology should never be used in business writing. Words like 'We're sorry', 'bad service', or the like should be avoided if possible. If they are necessary, they should start a statement with a positive ending, for example:

  • We're sorry that your Acme X did not perform to your satisfaction, we value the feedback from our customers in our effort to produce the best possible Xs on the market.
  • We are most grateful that you have brought your experience with customer service to our attention.

These statements are followed by what CAN be done to satisfy a customer or resolve a difficult situation.

When delivering bad news, be concise and to the point. Sometimes negative language can't be avoided, for example cancelling an account or an unpaid amount. Most likely, this news is not the first communication on the matter and should be stated as clearly and briefly as possible. If there are any remedies available for the recipient to mitigate the situation, the 'bad news' letter should end with that information.

1. What are the characteristics of a good communicator Please express yourself using complete sentences.2. What are the four major functions of a business Please give an example of each.?

My teacher gave an assignment while I was sick for a few days (Right before quarantine), and she expects me to do it. When I was sick she shared a powerpoint link with the class "explaining" what each major function in business was, but she didn’t provide any examples on what they were (she explained the functions and answered questions in class). When I got back I had assignments to do (three presentations with (about) ten slides each) and then assigned a class assignment requiring me to explain what the four major functions of business are and with examples, but I was confused how to complete it. So, naturally, I looked up what they were and tried to find examples, but couldn’t find anything relevant. I am not in a place to email her. What should I do now?Example questions she said:What are the characteristics of a good communicator? Please express yourself using complete sentences. What are the four major functions of a business? What are the templates on a computer?

Are you talking about templates in a computer or templates in a computer program? A template in Word, for example, is nothing more than a basic form. So if you open a business letter template, it will ask you for some information to fill in and then you type your letter in the body. It is already setup in the proper format for a business letter. A template for an invoice will have all the columns, headings etc. you need for a basic invoice. Please let me know if this answers your question.

How do you write a letter of intent to rent a stall?

The first paragraph of any business letter states the purpose of the business letter, for example: "I'm writing to request a stall rental. The stall should be adequate for... (state the use of the stall)." The second paragraph should give the specifics of your needs, for example: "I will need to rent this space for a period of... (state time period beginning and ending). Please provide me with a rate schedule for a stall of the appropriate size and... (include what amenities and/or associated facilities are needed)." The third paragraph of any business letter is known as 'the call to action paragraph', in other word, tell the recipient what you expect them to do in response to your letter, for example: "Please send this information to me at the address above (and/or give email address) at your earliest convenience as I will need the stall by (date needed). If you have any questions or require further information you can contact me at (give phone number and/or email address). Thank you for your prompt attention to my request." "Sincerely,"
