Absolutely. When you took CPR, you were given the knowledge required to provide first aid, and save a life. When you are out on the street, it is ok to render aid to those who need it. Many people who are NOT CPR certified have done CPR to those in need. The only reason you are required to update your CPR is for on the job reasons. JCAHO checks all empolyee's credentials at your local hospitals and clinics. Use your judgement. If your heart is willing to help someone who is need, by all means help them.
You should still help them. You are protected by the Good Samaritan Law.
