If both trucks are 2-wheel drives are both of them are 4-wheel drives you sure can.
YES they are.

No it wont but I am looking for a 95 tahoe tranny
That would be a 4L60E.
I dont think a 95 Transmission will fit in the 98. From what i've been seeing, in my 98' Tahoe, the starter is mounted on the bellhousing of the transmission. I dont think that the 95 would have the same set up when 96-7 wouldnt also. As far as I know, you have to have a transmission that is 98 or newer. Could I be wrong though?
How do you adjust a transmission passing gear cable on a 95 chevy tahoe /
NO. V-6 and V-8 transmissions will not interchange with that year.
NO..... That year MUST have the 4L60E transmission put in it due to the computer system that runs the engine and transmission. NO OTHER 1 WILL WORK
Yes as long as they both come out of the same wheel drive vehicle
They both use the 4L60E.
Yes it will bolt right in. BUT here's the problem. It will not run and nothing will hook up as far as the electrical computer connectors, the on board computer system is totally different on the 99 and so is the fuel pump and transmission. So to sum it up, You will have nothing but PROBLEMS if you change engines.
NO. You must use a short shaft 4L60E CAR transmission not a truck transmission.
