yes, you must download the music onto your computer, put your dsi SD gaming card (bought at target, wall-mart, meiijer in gaming section) in the SD card slot, a recogniser should pop up and so you go to the music files. when you have the i tunes music and your SD music files both up drag the music to you SD folder. be careful when you drag and drop wait till the loading symbol goes away!

When I tried to put the mp3 format onto the DSi, it wouldn't recognize it. It needs mp4 or aac. What I ended up doing was going online and downloading a free converter program. Some of them don't work properly, but if you download the free version of "Switch Audio File Converter", it will allow you to convert other versions (i.e. mp3) to one that will work on the DSi. First thing, you can go on Limewire (free) and download the songs that you want to put on the DSi. Almost all songs on Limewire are mp3 versions. You can then take those mp3 versions and convert them to aac or mp4 through Switch Audio File Converter. When I convert my files to aac, it doesn't work on the DSi. I have to convert the files to m4a version. This has worked without any problem and all the songs that I put on the SD card work perfectly.

Sorry but only AAC files can be used on a DSI!

Use a Converter to Convert your MP3 To AAC.

With iTunes, you can convert them there in m4a files.

Nintendo DS and DS lite have no actual internal (or external) storage capablilities, so you can't store files on them. You can on the new DSis though.

How can you put music in your dsi?

What you have to do is find the right converter that will convert a mp3 file into a mp4 file. It might take a few tries to find the right one. Then load the mp3 files you want onto a memory stick. Then go on the converter, add the mp3 file and select destination as sd card (You can't do it without an sd card) then convert it and load the sd card into the slot on your nintendo. Press Dsi sound then click "play with your music" select the song you want to play. You can change speed and pitch of your songs and more.

Yes, you can put music on the Nintendo DSi, but it only plays AAC files. You will need: iTunes, an SD card, and a way to plug an SD card into your computer. First you have to download the MP3 file you want. You can do this in the iTunes Store iTunes is used for the converting of the MP3 File. When you have installed iTunes, drag the MP3 File in your iTunes window, right-click and click on it and select "Make AAC Version", which will start the converting process.
