THE PULLEY IS THAT SIZE FOR A REASON. I WOULD ASSUME THE MANUFACTURER DESIGNED IT AT THE OPTIMUM SPEED AS TO HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO PICK UP THE AVERAGE AMOUNT OF SNOW AND TO THROW THE SNOW ADEQUATE DISTANCE. THERE IS A DIRECT PROPORTION BETWEEN POWER AND SPEED. IF YOU MAKE A CHANGE TO INCREASE SPEED, THEN YOU WILL DECREASE POWER (AND VISE VERSA). THE QUESTION IS HOW MUCH POWER CAN YOU AFFORD TO LOOSE? THIS WILL DEPEND ON HOW DEEP THE SNOW IS AND HOW WET THE SNOW IS. IS THE MACHINE HAVING TROUBLE PICKING UP THE SNOW OR IS IT NOT THROWING IT FAR ENOUGH? IF YOUR ANSWER IS BOTH, YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER A BIGGER MACHINE.
smaller ones turn faster than larger ones
It depends on the snowblower, belt type and what you arer trying to achieve by making the change. The replacement pulley(s) will have to be the same shaft id as the original to start. Next make sure that there is room inside the snowblower for the new pulley. Thirdly the belt may have to change depending on the pulley size that you choose. There are many different pulley types and sizes available. Be aware of the changes that are made because they can decrease the snow throwing ability and also affect the drive speed and vice versa.
The front snowblower attachment on the GT225 is powered by the engine through a belt that extends to the pulley on the bottom of the engine. ( it is the same pulley that drives the mower deck.) The mower deck must be removed. Bret
possible broken auger belt, or one that has slipped off the pulley
The smaller pulley spins the supercharger faster, thus creating greater boost and therefore more horsepower. Popular "sizes" are 15%, 17% and 19% reduction. The larger percentage reduction gives a greater boost. Some mechanics do not recommend the higher percentage pulleys.
Behind the water pump pulley. The pump is smaller than the pulley so the pulley hides it.
Check your bearing on the shaft. Check pulleys for alignment also check bearing on idler clutch pulley.
Large drive pulley, small driven pulley = faster rotation but less torque. Small drive pulley, large driven pulley = slower rotation but more torque.
Crankshaft Pulley !
both lift same speed both lift same speed
