No, betta fish are tropical fish; goldfish are coldwater fish, this should be reason enough not to mix the two. The mixing of these fish would be irresponsible and could yield distatorous results. One reason not to mix them would be because betta fish are quite small; most don't even reach 1/3 the size of a goldfish (even when full grown!) it makes them very likely to get bullied by the other fish. Fin nipping can be a major problem and is dangerous for the health of the fish. Do all your fish a favor by not mix betta fish with goldfish.
yes you can place a betta in the same tank as a goldfish, just make sure the tank is big enough. On average, a betta needs about a 2 gallon area. Although they can live in smaller areas, when sharing a territiory with another fish it is best to go bigger to avoid a fight. If that condition is met, bettas can get along with a goldfish. Mine did.
I think it would not be ideal as bettas are tropical and goldfish like coldwater. I have a beta fish and then i won 2 goldfish at a carnival and i kept them separated just incase.
Chances are they won't fight; however, bettas are actually tropical fish and are more active and healthier in warmer water, whereas goldfish are cold water fish. If possible, you should try a small, heated tank for your betta. If not, it will survive with the goldfish but won't be as active, pretty, or healthy.
No, because a betta will attack any fish with long flowy fins, or are prettier than them.
Ok
yes, goldfish and betta fish fight. One time I had 2 goldfish and one bit the other one and it killed it.Never have 2 betta fish in the same aquarium or bowl because they will fight right when they get in the aquarium/bowl!
a betta bowl is about 12-15 inches in length and about the same in height
No, for a number of reasons. Firstly, one goldfish needs at least 20 gallons on it's own. In addition, not only are bettas and goldfish not compatible, but their needs are different including foods and water temperature; Bettas are best as a solitary fish.
The first rule of fish keeping is "1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water" Your 'bowl' is not big enough to keep one fish healthy let alone two and a Betta. Goldfish are coldwater fish and need temperatures around 55F. Bettas are tropical fish and need temperatures around 80F so you can see that they should not be kept together anyway.Simple answer is NO. They need totally different living conditions. 1 Betta needs a 5 gallon (nominal) tank. Two goldfish need a 25 gallon tank.
While there are no real studies about the length of the attention span of a betta fish, it seems to be about the same as a goldfish. That would make a betta's attention span about three minutes.
No, they will fight. It would stress them out.
No. They will kill each other.
well i did but its in a tank though but they seem to be fine. only thing is the goldfish eats all the food and the betta has a tiny mouth compare to the goldfish so yeah make sure he gets some food
No it is just about all the same stuff.
never put a male betta in with any other fish, he will kill them. females are much friendlyer than males but if a gold fish starts nipping at her fins remove her . she wil fight back and most likely kill them or injur them badly.
It's best to only put male and female betta fish in the same tank/bowl if you are breeding them. If they are not breeding and they still stay in the same area, the male would most likely attack the female, so keep the female away! Also, if you are breeding betta fish, make sure to remove the female betta after she lays her eggs, as the male will care for them and chase the female away.
um, i think i wouldn't if i were you cuz goldfish and beta fish need different nutrients
