Glass packs are just cheap mufflers. If you mean side-pipes instead of straight, they are expensive & usually have glass packs inside. If it's a newer vehicle, you have to also contend with converters for emissions reasons.
straight pipes are louder than glass packs at first, glass packs have glass wool inside to help muffle the sound, when the glass wears out they get louder, it also depends on the length of the glass pack. if you get glass packs, you can run the car for awhile and shut it down and then spray water in the pipe, it will break down the glass, it might not be as loud as straight pipes but it will give you a better even sound versus straight pipes, I have both and done both.
yeah there safe the only thing that happends if you have a glass pack then the fieber glass falls out after time but that's it. ive got a dodge durango v8 227 and put glass packs on it and it sounds a lot beter. but yeah there tottaly safe
Yes. If you're going to put a heavy-duty truck diesel engine in it, you could only use the 5.9L I-6 Cummins. The reason why is because of the gas engine size of it but it still packs decent diesel power. Just think of it this way, a 5.9L V6 Gasoline engine. It's the same size. So yes, you can put a 5.9L I-6 Cummins in an F-150 only.
Original muffler location best, but I advise against. They are called glass packs because they are packed with fibreglass which burns out leaving you a hollow shell. they are also usually the cheapest quality mufflers you can buy.
Never put gas in a diesel car. And never put diesel in a gas car. An engine is built to handle one and not the other.
