No. Hamsters are solitary creatures. They prefer to be the only hamster in the cage. They want their own territory for themselves. If you put two mature hamsters together, they will fight to the death.
Brambleclaw lover17703,
The only two times you should put two hamsters together in a cage is when you breed a female and a male ( but you should take them out after except for some breeds they need to stay with eachother a bit longer) and when the female is taking care of her babies. But she might eat them the first time and seperate them after 3-4 weeks. Otherwise she will eat them!
NO NO NO Definetly Not, they will fight, cross species, all leading to a disaster. It`s just better off leaving them alone. A gerbil may carry a disease that hamsters are vulnerbal to. And vice versa. Dont chance it and ask your local pet shop employee for further reasoning as to why not.
Syrian hamsters are very territorial, so they will fight each other to the death if they are put in the same cage. Unless you want to breed them, I recommend that you only put in the female hamster in the same cage if she is in 'heat'.
It depends on the type of hamster. If your hamsters are Syrian/Golden/Teddy bear/Fancy bear the answer is no. Any dwarf hamster such as roborovoski, winter white, etc the answer would be yes.
Hope it helped!
It really depends on the type of hamster. The pet store or professional breeder will give the best advice.
Only the females should be kept in the same cage. The males will tend to fight.
Yes, but only if they are the same breed of hamster.
Ex...Two short haired can stay in the same cage...two long haired can stay in the same cage.
Potentially they can be, but usually they will fight. A hamster fight may not seem like a big deal, but they have very long teeth. They can really hurt each other.
Yes they will. Hamsters and gerbils are solitary creatures and they wil fight if they feel that someone else is in their territory.
yes they do
No, syrian hamsters are solitary, and will fight if put together.
No teddy hamsters and dwarf hamsters cant stay together
bro what i guess
Syrian Hamsters will kill and eat a gerbil, do not put them together in the same cage.
if they were raised together like brothers or sisters
Usually, if they are introduced to each other, you can put dwarf hamsters together. If the hamsters fight, they must be separated. Avoid separating ones that have been together for a long time (they might have symptoms similar to depression).Syrian hamster can't be put together. They are extremely territorial and will fight.
Yes but u would have to get them at the same age and from the same family of gerbils
I usaually stick them in the same cage over night to make it faster!
Hamster and gerbils do not have different food the eat the same food and love the same treats.
No! Never introduce two random hamsters to one and other, especially in the same cage! They will get hostile and vicious, and one will end up being killed. Two random hamsters + being put in the same cage = recipe for a major catastrophe!
