I'm NOT 100% sure on this answer but do this and we will find out.

If you are having a fuel gauge problem then CALL a Chevy parts house and ask them if they sell a FUEL LEVELING SENSOR by itself. If they do then buy it and install it on the fuel sending unit that is inside of the fuel tank and that will fix your gauge for awhile. Overtime the sulfur in the gas COATS the fuel leveling sensor and the gauge goes crazy.

You may have to buy the WHOLE fuel pump sending unit just to fix your gauge. That will be A costly repair. Like I said, Don't know if they sell it by itself or not.

depends of course on the nature of the problem(undescribed) but one malfunction could be the sending unit in the fuel tank.

If the RPM gauge isn't working but car runs fine is there a problem?

yeah the problem is that your RPM gauge doesn't work. This can be causes by a blown sensor either on your motor, or in the relay to your gauge cluster. Take your car to a dealership to be sure. For about $50, they will read the compute error code your car is producing and quote you on the repair and tell you how deep the problem is. I you don't trust them, many other mechanics have code scanners.

How do you repair a fuel gauge of a 1988 F-150 that stays past full until you only have a quarter tank then goes to Empty?

The problem is most likely the sending unit, not the gauge itself. The sending unit would have to be replaced.

Honda fuel gauge?

A common problem with Honda cars is that the fuel gauge is stuck on full. This problem is solved by replacing the gauge cluster.

How do you replace a nonworking gas gauge for a 1988 Lincoln town car?

First you have to determine if the problem is the gauge in the dash, a bad fuel level sending unit, or a wiring problem. You'll need a digital ohm meter and a wiring diagram to check it out. If you're sure it's the dash gauge and the gauge is part of the instrument cluster, you can take it to a local speedometer repair shop and they can fix it. Or, you can look on the internet for speedometer/instrument repair shops. Rick I'm a retired ASE Master/L-1 Technician. I still keep current with the latest automotive technology. Is there a problem with your fuel gauge?

No.

Where is heat gauge Fuse for a 2000 Camry?

If only the temperature gauge does not work, then a fuse is not the problem. Be sure that the radiator is full. If not you will need to fill it as the temperature sender needs water around it in order to have something to sense. If it is full then take it to a repair shop and have them check it out.

Gas gauge not working?

my gas gauge is not working what could be the problem

How do you repair a fuel gauge on a 1998 dodge ram truck after the gas tank and fuel pump was replaced and now the fuel gauge does not work?

The gas gauge and fuel pump are on two separate circuits tand both go inside the gas tank. The gas gauge usesf a float that moves a resistor according to fuel level. Gas gauges. When you experiewnce the gas gauge not working at all I would look for a disconection external to the tank first. If you cna send six volts from the tank sender to the gauge this should cause the gauge to read. If it does then you know the problem is with the sending unit and it must be removed from the tank to repair or replace.

How do you troubleshoot the instrument cluster on a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu as the fuel and temperature gauge do not work?

Ground the temperature sending unit and the gauge should go to hot. If it does not the the gauge is defective. The instrument cluster will have to be sent off for repair. had the same problem, check for bad fuse located in fuse box under the hood on drivers side.
