Yes, but is may require the use of the intake and exhaust manifolds from your 1997 engine. The headers to be reused will need to be milled flat by a machine shop to ensure they are flat and will seal properly. I have a 1994 SC2 running a 1998 DOHC engine from a wrecked SL2, runs like a champ, but I did have to reuse my 1994 manifolds. Good Luck
The 1997 Saturn knock?æsensor is located on the back of the engine. The knock sensor can be removed by removing the wiring harness and the retaining bolts.
Can you replace your 2000 Camry CE 4-cylinder engine with a 1997 Camry engine?"
yes, all the Saturn DOHC motors are interference engines.
Yes, you can replace a 1.5 liter engine in a 1997 Mirage with a 1.8 liter engine. However, there will be extra parts needed to modify the engine so that it will fit perfectly.
A 1997 SC1 uses a single overhead cam, 4 cylinder engine.
Low engine coolant
The 1997 Saturn used dexcool antifreeze. The chemical compounds are different and should never be mixed, as the engine will no longer cool properly.
How to replace or change the 1997 Dodge Caravan 3.3 liter engine
Yes, and the engine is an interference engine. If the belt breaks serious engine damage will occur. Replace at 60,000 mile on models up to 1997. From 1997 & up replace at 90,000 miles.
it is in the engine compartment, on the drivers side. not much room to work in. will need to take hose off from air filter to engine to get better access. it isn't fun, but good luck
On the left side of the 1.9 engine is the temp sensior for the 1997 it has two pronged plug on the back of it. The plug snaps in but you will need to gently unplug it then unscrew it from the engine. the thing is after you change it the computer will need to be reset after instillation of new one.
With enough retrofitting anything is possible!!! IF you are expecting to replace the 1.9 engine with the 2.0 it wont bolt up correctly. I am sure that you know you would have to replace the transmissions as well.
Does your 1997 have good computer chip. If not then its not practical to attempt. I have been trying to replace a 1999 engine with a 2002 engine because they were both a 1.9 Sohc SC Saturn. However, after purchasing the 1999 car I discovered the computer had been stolen. I tought well i would just replace the computer. Well computers don't come with chip and its has been impossible for me to locate a chip, new or used.
Well in my 1997 accent it is located on the firewall in the engine if your engine is carburetor then it will be a plastic container
How much should it cost to replace engine mounts on a 1997 audia4 quattro
Sounds like the classic ignition wire problem. Replace them.
Replace the valve cover gasket.
If you are meaning SL they swap no problem. Some of the electronics from the original car will have to be swapped to the donor engine.
Yes. The composite/plastic tips crack. This in turns causes the wire connection to corrode. Replace it with an updated brass tipped version from saturn. Clean the connection or replace it if neccessary. It is also availlable from saturn.
no its a1997 avalon replacing the mounts
You have to unscrew front right engine mount from bottom and lift engine (not remove).
