That's kinda hard question to answer. You have to pull the tranny to replace it. It is a very good idea to replace the clutch assembly also while you have the tranny out so you don't have to worry about it. As to time, it will depend on if you have help and such. I would plan on atleast a day. Just take your time and remember the tranny is heavy(around 160 lbs w/ transfer case).
