The engines do not share the same bellhouseing bolt patter. If you had a 3.8 it would be a bolt in, the 5.0 and 3.8 share the same bellhousing pattern. The 4.6 has a bellhousing all its on. Baumann performance does offer an adapter plate to make them bolt up though. If you want a 5.0 just change the engine and trans out of a earlier T'bird , but good luck finding the 5.0 motor mounts for the 89 and up birds.{they are very hard to find}

The sohc engines were, the dohc engines are not the above info is wrong ,DOHC is an interference engine on Kia sportages ,i rebuild them all the time, please replace timing belts when specified, damage can be tremendous.
