The service providers will ask you if you would like to keep the same number you have right now. When they do ask this question, you would know what to say if you want to get a different phone number for your cell phone.
I don't think you can get a different number when your contract isn't over.

∙ 12y agoYes, when you get a new cell phone, your number may change, if that is the case and you want your old phone number back, call your carrier and ask them to reset the phone and ask if you can change your number. If you want a new number, I do not know but it is fairly possible, I would ask your carrier if you can get a new number without getting a new phone. It seems very likely.
