The intermediate shaft is the shaft going to the driver side wheel from the tranny. The shaft is suppose to eliminate what you call torque steer, It comes straight from the tranny and bolts to the engine block with a bearing race to hold the shaft and at that brace is where the half shaft, or drive shaft connects to the intermediate shaft and to the driver side hub.

How do you replace crank shaft sensor on 2005 Chrysler 2005 300c?
Yes, in principle you can take a shaft out of one club and put it in another. If it's a steel shaft, it's almost certainly cheaper to just replace it with a new one. For graphite it's not beyond the capabilities of a well-equipped shop, but it would still probably be cheaper when it was all over to put a new one in the other clubhead. Unless it was a really special shaft. And I can't define "really special".
7" on average.
There is no set length as it needs to be relative to your height.
No you do not.
You REPLACE the WHOLE THING! Shaft, box and all!
Don't bother trying to replace a torn boot on a half shaft. It is quicker, easier and cheaper to replace the whole half shaft.
how do you replace half shaft on 2992 ford escape
I have a leak on my drive shaft left front 2000 cheve Blazer I would like to replace the whole unit
you can change it but you have to get either a shaft that already is compatible with the str8-fit or someone to install the shaft into the str8-fit ending.
well i have a 2003 and it is on the shfter shaft below the shifter release button
YOu have to remove the brake caliper, rotor, ,take the nut off that holds the shaft, disconnect the strut, and lower control arm to get them out of the way. Loosen the shaft by putting a large screw driver between the transaxle and the half shaft and it should snap out. Replace in reverse order. NOTE: when inserting the new shaft make sure IT SNAPS firmly into place,,,try to pull it out by hand you shouldn't be able to. It's not a real difficult job but get yourself a Haynes Manual at an auto parts store, IT will show you entire procedure.
Most driver shafts are about 46 inches, but they can be shorter or longer. Some players use 44 inch shafts for accuracy and other use a 48 inch shaft for distance. 48 inches is the maximum length for a driver shaft.
