NO dear we can not rotate a 110 vlolt motor on 220,but if your voltage is 110v then y can rotate it on 50hz ,no problem, but it will rotate at lower speed,

Will a 110V 60Hz home theater system bought in the US work in Singapore which uses a 220V 50Hz by just using a voltage transformer?

Your stereo system has an internal transformer in the power supply that is designed to operate at a given frequency. If it is designed to operate at the load your stereo system will use at 50 Hz, then yes. Otherwise this transformer will overheat when connected at the wrong frequency, and will burn out. You might be lucky and the power supply may be labelled to operate at 50 or 60Hz; if not, I recommend contacting the manufacturer. A voltage transformer will convert 50Hz 220 to 50Hz 110. To change frequency, you need special equipment.

Will a 220v 60Hz US mig welder work with a 220v 50Hz supply in Africa?

Hi - it should be OK but the transformer might overheat a little if it is used intensively, so it need to be used carefully. The reason is that the magnetic flux in the core is 15-20% greater at 50 Hz, and that increases the heat produced in the transformer. Going in reverse, a 50 Hz transformer will work fine on 60 Hz.

What formula would be used to convert at current transformer rating at 60Hz to 25Hz?

I don't understand your question. Are you asking how to convert from 60hz to 25hz using a transformer? That cannot be done. Frequency in = frequency out.

If you use a UK 240v to 110v yellow transformer and plug in to us 230v 60hz what happens?

It depends on the device itself. If it is an ordinary light bulb or the filament type, it may glow very lightly and it will convert electricity to heat rather than light. If your device is an electrical motor, it will draw more current than normal and will probably burn out.

Can 60hz transformer be operated at 50hz how?

As per transformer equation,E=4.44 * freq * flux * Turns. So E/ freq =Flux. So when a transformer is designed for 60Hz ,it CANNOT be operated at 50Hz and if operated may create heating effects and core saturation etc. Because E/60< E/50. However the converse condition is true i.e. a 50 HZ transformer can be used for 60Hz application Because E/50>E/60

Can you use the 220v 50hz appliances in 110v 60hz?

Depends. Some smaller stuff can usually run on both, in which case it will be printed on them. If it isn't, you can't run a 220v item on 110v.

What capacitor should you use on my step up transformer with an output of 220v so you can use it to run my 220v 60hz motor?

If you have a transformer with an output adequate to run the motor, use it directly for the supply to the motor control circuitry. Remember when dealing with motors, the start current will be about 300% of the full load running amperage. Size the transformer accordingly.

Will a 220V 60Hz work on 220V 50Hz?

Yes no problem the transformer should run a little cooler as well.

Is there anyway to get 220V 60hz from a 110V 50hz power supply?

It would involve some electronics work but it could be done. Might add that it could be more expensive than just buying the proper power supply. Use Use 220V 60hz motor to run 110V 50hz Generator.

I have a 1960 vintage Juke Box that runs on European 220v 50Hz power. Is there a device I can purchase that will convert US 110v 60Hz power to run this machine?

Yes, purchase a step-down transformer.

Is 50Hz to 110V as 60Hz is to 220V?

No. For more information see the answers to the Related Questions shown below.

Why doesn't my 110v Wahl hair clippers work correctly when plugged into a power converter converting 220 v to 110 the screw on the side has no effect?

The internal working of the motor is designed for 110V/60Hz. Your stepdown converter is from 220V/50Hz to 110V/50Hz. Frequency converters from 50Hz to 60Hz are very expensive (many times the cost of a new clipper). Therefore it is better you get a clipper designed for 220V/50Hz. If you still like to put your clipper to use, then the most cost effective solution would be to get a "car inverter" that would convert 12V DC to 110V/60Hz AC.

Will a device that is rated as 110V AC 60Hz and 3A work with a step down convertor with 220V to 110V and 50Hz rating?

Depending on the device, it may or may not work. And if it works, it won't work properly. A 60Hz devices needs 60 cycle current, not 50.

If you have a computer which start with 110v so by using converter can the computer starts with 220v?

Yes. If the computer power input is only rated for 110V input, you can power it from 220V by using a voltage converter from 220V to 110V with appropriate wattage. Some computer power supplies also have a switch for setting 110V/220V in which case computer can be powered from 220V after changing the setting. Most of the portable computers/laptops have power adapters which are rated for universal voltage (e.g. my Dell laptop AC adapter is rated for 100-240V 50-60Hz).

What happens to a 220v 50hz stereo amplifier when connected to a 220v 60hz supply?

Nothing happens. The stereo has a transformer that converts the power to DC, and 50 or 60 Hz input makes no difference.

How can you convert a 220v 50hz generator to a 220v 60hz?

you can't
