According to the experts, you can tow any front wheel drive manual transmission vehicle as far as you want and as long as you want. However, the best way to make sure a vehicle is suited to flat towing is to check the owner's manual.
Manual transmissions use a variety of oils: regular motor oil, heavyweight hypoid gear oil or even automatic transmission fluid in some cases. Your owner's manual will tell you what your transmission calls for. If you don't have an owner's manual, either get one or call your local Ford dealer for the proper lubricant. Using the wrong lubricant can cause serious damage to the transmission.
what kind of transmission oil for 2001 kia sephia thanks
hi hcould you PLZ sombody help me where is the transmission fluid in vectra 2.2 DTI? thanks

The stock 5L Caprice comes with a 700r4 transmission so no upgrade would be needed. VBdenny **funny, cuz mine doesnt. 4L60 and i think its pretty WEAK! Does anyone who knows what they're talking about know about this problem? i need a strong-BAD-ASS Auto-tranny that wont let me down- for $$CHEAP$$ inexpensive, im not rich! that's why I drive a 92 Caprice Station Wagon!!! "What parts/components/Transmission do i need to UPgrade my tranny?" Thanks Ken D. The 4L60 is the newer name for the 700R4. It's the same transmission. The 700R4/4L60/4L60E are all weak transmissions, especially the 4th gear clutchpack. If you upgrade transmissions, you should purchase a large transmission cooler. This will lengthen the life of the tranny.
It's got to go to Ford. The Ford F-250 and F-350 had a 5-speed manual transmission, and it was tough as h*ll! You can find those transmissions in the 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8 of the late 90's. I had one, and I let my teenage son drive it, and he was terrible with a manual. He grinded a lot of gears! lol Thanks a lot, post a message on my message board. :D
can anyone tell me how to remove a transmission from a 1993 ford mustang 4 cylinder? Thanks sailtome69@yahoo.com
Yes it will bolt up to it, but you will need a TCU ( Transmission Control Unit ) which is about a $730 part so that the transmission can shift right. Thanks -N
i am taking the 700r4 out of my 86 Chevy 4x4 and putting in a turbo 350. in my research i have found that both transmissions have the same spline count, but the 700 is a longer transmission. here is a website that might help you out. http://www.2quicknovas.com/tranny.HTML if you have any questions feel free to email me and i will try to help you out. creimann1979@yahoo.com Every good mechanic in this world will tell you that Chevy is the best brand of vehicles you can but. one good reason is to do with the way gm, and Chevy did their engine/transmission compatibility nearly all automatic transmission will bolt up to any engine. an engine with a 700-R4 is compatible with a turbo 350. of any year. Chevy is the best brand again. thanks!
Depends on which engine they have. The 2.8 V-6 bell housing bolt pattern is not the same as a 4.3 V-6.
Take it to a auto shop and ask them to check the transmission fluid level and watch them then say thanks and buy some fluid.
found the answer thanks anyway
