What I did is I got friendly with my parents, explained why I wanted a blackberry, I mentioned I want a nice phone that will last me, and possibly last for 3 years. I explained that I would help pay for the phone, I would pay 20 dollars, Mom would pay 15 and Day would pay 15. They are paying more together, though they will appreciate that you want to pay and then you can mention you will help around the house and they will appreciate you WANT to WORK for what you get.
