The length of the chamber in a 2 3/4 inch chambered shotgun is 2 3/4". The longer 3" shotgun shells will not fit in the chamber, being 1/4" too long. You can shoot 2 3/4" shotgun shells, of the correct gauge, in a 3" chambered shotgun.

Is it chambered for magnum shells? If not, the answer is NO.
Although it is a forged barrel it is NOT suited for todays high velocity or magnum loads. I shoot mine with the lowest FPS shells I can find or load.
the chamber length should be stamped on the barrell just ahead of the reciever, something like "12 gauge for 2 3/4 " or shorter shells or 12 gauge for 3" magnum shells. pbl I own one it's 3''
Your Browning Sweet 16 is a 16 gauge shotgun that can handle shells that are 2 and 3/4 inches in length. You might also purchase 2.5 inch shells for this shotgun.
No.
A shotgun.
The bore of a 20 gauge is .615 inches, whereas the bore of a .44 magnum is nominally .42 inches. Also, the chamber pressure of a .44 is about three times that of a 20 gauge. It might be possible with some kind of an adapter to fit in the chamber, but there would be little point to it since the bullet would not receive any stabilization and the powder would not burn efficiently. In any case, a 20 gauge slug is a far better stopper than a .44 magnum.
.410 bore is .410 inches 28 gauge is .550 inches 20 gauge is .615 inches 16 gauge is .662 inches 12 gauge is .729 inches 10 gauge is . 775 inches
If it's a 16 gauge shotgun, the shell length is 2 3/4 inches.
