Yes you can, that is what they were made for. And like any other gun it takes practice to learn how your gun shoots
Not well.
Shooting rifled slugs is the ONLY way to shoot thru a smoothbore for deer. If you shoot sabot slugs thru a smoothbore, it will not spin and therefore not be accurate. For accuracy, the slug must spin out of the barrel. Either shoot a rifled slug thru a smooth barrel, or shoot a saboted slug thru a rifled barrel.
yes and they sell rifled slugs that shoot better
Slugs. You CAN shoot lead bird shot in a rifled barrel but it will not give you good or consistant patterns.
In short, it is a barrel designed to fire slugs. Some are smooth bore which are intended to shoot rifled slugs or buckshot, while others are rifled and intended for shooting sabot slugs only. This is a very good and trusted answer. lcj
Yes. Rifled slugs are intended for smoothbore barrels (abot slugs aer for RIFLED barrels). Best accuracy with rifled slugs is USUALLY a modified choke, but can be safely fired thru any choke less than EXTRA full choke.
Rifled slugs were designed for smooth bore barrels because they lack rifling. Sabot slugs are made for rifled bores but they can fire through smooth bores with loss of accuracy. I am not sure about rifled slugs in a rifled barrel because I think the bullets rifling can improperly connect with the bores rifling and you risk scratching the barrel.
rifled choke tubes for sabot slugs and cylinder or improved cylinder choke tube for foster type slugs. you can shoot slugs with semi-auto. experiment to find what cycles the best without jamming.
yes you can shoot rifled slugs through smooth bore barell, or use rifled choke for sabots. the sa08 takes the same choke as mossberg...win, etc.
Depends on what the barrel is choked.
a slug is normally use in a shot gun and they are not rifled a gun with a rifled barrel should shoot a Shell that is the same caliber as the gun.
Yes but make sure you use rifled slugs. DON'T USE SABOT SLUGS. those require a rifled barrel. I use winchester super X rifled slugs in my pardner and inside of 70 yards I hit with a good grouping. Of-course, use the brand that works best with your gun.
Sabot slugs are made for rifled barrels. Using regular slugs and rifled slugs over time will deposit lead in the rifling grooves inside the barrel gradually hurting your accuracy. Using the sabot slugs greatly improves accuracy making it possible to shoot accurately at 100 yards. It makes your shotgun into a rifle in a way. Hope this helps.
