Yes. No problem
with the wingmaster barrel you can only shoot lead, but if you change the barrel to a slugster you can shoot slugs and buckshot, they also have a barrel for steel shot to.
no! dont try it my friend! improved cylinder is an actual choke, meaning it constricts the barrel, if you fire a slug through one it will probably blow the end of your gun barrel off. you would need a cylinder aka factory cylinder choke, which is no constriction at all
Browning Choke Markings "* " = full "*- " = improved modified "** " = modified "**-" = improved cylinder "**$" = skeet "***" = cylinder
no slugs should on be shot thru a improved cylinder shotgun. if you shoot thru any other choke it can cause the barrel to split
They were made. The code on the left rear of the barrel for a cylinder choke would be ***. Improved cylinder is marked with two astricks and a minus sign,so **-. Here are the Browning choke markings: * =Full.*- = Imp. Mod.,** = Mod.,**- = Imp.Cly., **$ = Skeet and *** = Cly.
YES as a gun dealer for over 8 years I have been ask this question many times and the improved choke barrel is ok for slugs but never in a modified choke or full choke barrel as the slug in the latter 2 barrels will open the choke over time
100-225 or so
BROWNING CHOKES AND THEIR CODES (ON REAR LEFT-SIDE OF BARREL) '*' designates full choke (F). '*-' designates improved modified choke (IM). '**' designates modified choke (M). '**-' designates improved cylinder choke (IC). '**$' designates skeet (SK). '***' designates cylinder bore (CYL).
You can shoot slugs in a double. Slugs are best shot through a cylinder bore or improved cylinder choke. The tighter the choke, the more they will be disrupted. There is risk of excessive wear and damage through a tight choke--tighter than Modified Choke.
It can, but you will probably get better accuracy with improved cylinder bore or cylinder bore using slugs. It depends on the gun.
Please dont shoot slugs through a 32" barrel A5. That is undoubtedly a full choke and shooting slugs through it can damage that barrel, which by itself is worth $300. Slug barrels are typically 24" in length with an Improved Cylinder choke.
Date code on barrel, see related links.
