I have good news and bad news. First the good news that this is a question that will mean useful thongs to an increasing number of people. Now the Bad News that the answer depends on what energy is gnerated, how it is generated, why was it generated, and last but not least what form of energy is needed to fill the need for energy. Simple question, complex answer
20% of the worlds power is generated by nuclear power
spinning turbines generated or create electric power.
Hydroelectricity (generated from water), geothermal electricity (generated from the landmass), solar thermal power (generated from the sun) and wind power. (generated from wind)
Electricity generated by water power alone is hydroelectric power.
It act as a powerhouse. They produce ATP in the cell. ATP store the energy and release when necessary
There are two general ways to store solar power that are available to private residences. The first are banks of batteries, and the second method is grid inter-tie, where you store your excess energy to the power grid and pull from the grid when there is no energy being generated (such as at night).
A solar home generator would be a good investment if you also invested in a battery system that would allow you to store the power generated for later use. Otherwise you could only use the power while it was being generated, and that's not the most efficient.
solar power comes from the sun and is generated from solar pannals. wind power comes from the wind and is generated from wind mills.

hydroelectric power
Wind energy is generated by wind!! *gasp*
