You can sue just about anyone for any thing. However, it is unlikely that you would win unless you could show that you suffered damages in some way. You would also have to be able to prove that you did not place it there yourself.
I think you can but you have to prove that wasn't yours. One time, my family went to this Chinese restraunt and a cigeratte was inside one of the platters and my dad ate it. He coughed and coughed. Then we got the whole meal free. But we still didn't sue them. So I guess give them a chance to explain.

And that would depend upon the details. Some objects found in food are more offensive or dangerous than others.
