Yes,you can
The shifting in the AXOD is done with fluid accumulators. Fluid fills the accumulator and pushes on a piston until it bottoms out. During that time, the clutches are applying slowly. In and AXODE or the AX4N, they eliminate the accumulators and use electric solenoids that regulate pressure to the clutch pistons. These transmissions are NOT interchangeable.
it is a fairly simple swap motor mounts should be the same you can use the same tranny if you like or not mounts are the same
no you can not, the 95 tranny is computer controlled
Yes you can swap them. Is it a direct bolt for bolt swap? Probably not.
I was told by a transmission company that the 1992 tranny can only be used for 1992 Taurus models, no exceptions. This is correct the axode in a 1992 3.0 Taurus has different bulk head connectors from valve body,it won't work.As well the 88 is an axod not a axode.
Different computer eras 1994 is an eec 4 and the 1997 is an eec 5. there are only 2 different transmissions available for those years (ax4s (axode), or ax4n) they have different shifting stratagies not interchangeable. The biggest concern would be the speed sensor and shift solenoid configuration.
No you cannot swap a 94 into a 96 626 and vice versa. But you can use a 96 Ford Probe transmission in a 94 626. Check www.car-part.com for a list of transmissionsin your area. The listing will show alternative vehicles that the same tranny came in. I use it all the time when hunting compatible parts.
Cost? 1200 for a rebuild. if your doing a swap go with a VG30 transmission, its much stronger and the adapter can be purchased for ~$100
With some minor modification, yes
With the 2.0 and 2.1 the only tranny that will swap is from the 2.0 or 2.1
