yes,you will need the whole wiring harnes the computer.the trans.and its computer if it has one, motor mounts trans mounts axles. do you get the idea? is the vehicle worth this kind of intensive work? basically you need to remove the whole "k" frame and install the four cylinder one! computers sensors exaust fuel pump the whole shootin match so to speak.
2.2 ltr four cylinder
i wiil try to answear your question what 350 engine are you talking about 350 engine for Buick Oldsmobile Chevy and Pontiac will fit.
you would have to change the heads and timing cover no you dont have to swap heads or timing cover! it is a direct swap! motor has been in the lumina for about a month now its running great!
If you are referring to the 4 cylinder engine, then the answer is yes. Both 89 and 90 use the 3S-FE 2.0 4 cylinder engine. If you have the 2VZ-FE 2.5 V6, then you cannot swap from one to the other.
Swap it with another like relay.
The 3100 SFI engines were rated to 160HP, like the 3300 engines were. The 3.1 MultiPort FI were rated at 140HP. Of course, you certainly can swap a 3.1 MPFI engine in your Century, and in my opinion, you would do a very good choice. If a 3.1 MPFI can work in a Chevrolet Cavalier, why wouldn't it work in a Century?
It would help to know what engine you're trying to swap in. Quite a difference between trying to swap in a newer engine of the same model and trying to swap in, say, a Chevy small block.
Not unless you are prepred to swap all mountings, wiring, computer controls, computer and possibly the transmission. There is probably more stuff that I haven't thought of.
not positive on a 3100 grand am motor, but for fact a buick 3800 six cylinder can be fitted. i don't know if you need to change the trans or not, but with some engine mount modifications it should be an easy swap.
Dont pay more than $900 to get it installed. its not a very difficult engine to swap.
You will need to swap the engine, trans, wiring, computer, ac lines, radiator, ...
anything is possilble but the only thing is that if u have the money and time to do this type of project
