Yes but it is definatley not worth it. With custom mount fabrication, wiring and days worth of miscellaneous work it is just a waste of time and money. For that cost, you can buy a complete b series swap that'll net you more performance and half the work. If you're not looking for the power, stay d series to save money and headaches
With the stock Civic engine, no. If you swap the Accord engine in, yes. The swap involves notching or bashing in your frame rails or machining the crank pulley and a myriad of other things however. No
motor is the same, transmission is diffrent... you need just the motor or you get a manual body but auto swap?
The short answer is "Yes". However, the swap in question is not an easy one for many backyard mechanics. In order to make the swap happen you will need aftermarket motor mounts, modified axles, a modified wiring harness, a pedal swap, a new center console (to make the shifter look right,) and an upgrade from OBD0 to OBD1.Depending on the trim level of your 1991 Civic, you can swap motors from the same generation Civic (1988-1991) for not only a power increase, but a cheaper and easier swap. So if you have an LX, you could source a D16A6 engine from a Civic SI for a considerable power improvement, and all you will need is the motor and preferably the Engine Control Unit (ECU).The automatic-to-manual swap will require a set of pedals from a 1988-1991 Civic, a manual transmission for the motor you have or want to use with shift linkage, all clutch components with lines and cylinder(s), and an ECU designed for both your motor and transmission.
Yes, with custom mounts available for purchase online. In order for it to fit you will need the complete swap.
To swap a larger b18b1 engine into a 1994 Honda Civic the appropriate supplies must be bought and installed. The car will need axles, a wire harness, computer, transmission, and custom motor mounts.
You Can perform an engine swap to a h22a manual or a b16 manual. You will get more power with the h22a but the motor cost money.
If the 94 civic had a d series motor then... Yes & no. The 89 CRX as with all crx's have a cable transmission. The 92 & up civics have hydrollic transmissions. So the transmission will fit if it was from a d series motor, but you will have to buy a hydrollic conversion kit from hasport or other swap company.
No. Stick with Honda.
The 97 Honda Prelude motor (h22a) will fit into a 2000 civic with custom mounts (available to purchase online), however you will need the h22a transmission, shift-linkage, axles, and ecu (full swap). The h22a motor will not work with the stock d-series transmission.
It's possible to swap in a B20 series motor from a 3rd gen Prelude to a 5th gen Civic. However, it would be more practical (and easier to swap in) a D-series motor which there are multiple variants for the Civic between the late '80s into the '90s.
Yes and No. The motor itself will fit as long as it is the same series of motor. Any D series motor is interchangeable. The Problem you will run into with a 98-93 swap is the computer system interchange. A 93 civic is running Obd1 and a 98 civic is Obd2. If u are changing the type of motor from say D series to B series i would refer to a forum that has a walk through to swap, or at least a list of parts you will need to buy for the swap. a good resource is honda-tech.com the motor itself is interchangeable, and most of the sensors... if you have old motor swap everything over so it will just bolt right in..
The timing belt went on my 2.2 honda accord. I want to make it a Vtec now. Should i just get a Vtec motor or swap the Head?
