with enough money anything is possible, i have personaly been looking into making my 1992 cavalier rear wheel drive. you will need a rear frame kit, i suggest jegs. you can get the rear frame, 4 links and coilovers for 1000, then you will need a 12 point cage to connect the beast in so that there is no possible way of it breaking loose. you could cut out the rear subframes aswell if you would liek and fabricate a new floor and bracing but id go with a roll cage, they are widely available through once again jegs and alot of other companies for about 300. now here comes for the trickier skill level stuff. you will need to remove the whole front end of the car, cradle fenders radiator support everything. then you will need to cut the tunnel that runs to the rear of the car for transmission clearence. i have been looking into 3rd gen camaro front subframes they are 81 inches long, 56 inches wide so youd need to narrow the center section of the crossmember to accomedate for the width of the cavy front end. but by doing this you would also need to raise the engine mounts id say around a good inch for oil pan clearence and the narrowed cross. off of this you would also need to shorten the overall length of the camaro subframe by a good 20 inches for clearence. then once that's done you just need a univeral transmission mount and a new tunnel and some other tuning and theres your rear wheel drive cavalier. this comes to a grand total of probably around 2000 not including motor and transmission when all is said and done.
