I just called a Nurse Helpline that I get through my employer. The registered Nurse informed me that I could safely take Advil Congestion with Zyrtec Allergy. The active ingredients in Zyrtec Allergy are: Cetirizine HCI 10mg (Antihistamine). The active ingredients in Advil Congestion are: ibuprofen 200mg and Phenylephrine HCI 10mg.

Can you take Zyrtec and advil cold and sinus?
Yes. Zyrtec is a 24 hour antihistamine which decreases the allergic response in your sinuses, lungs, eyes, skin, etc. Advil (ibuprofen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory which must be taken every 6-8 hours and treats pain and inflammation through out your body. Some people should not take ibuprofen at all but there is no interaction between Zyrtec and Advil.

Yes, both have Pseudophedrine as one of the active ingredients, so you will be taking more of it than recommended if you combine both. The regular Zyrtec is just 10mg of Cetirizine. That should be OK to take with the advil cold and sinus but I would check with a doctor or pharmacist on the D versions of Claritin or Zyrtec with it.

Advil-PM contains Benadryl (diphenhydramine, an antihistamine) and Clarinex is also an antihistamine, though of another type. I wouldn't take both. Try using plain Advil with a different antihistamine, Zyrtec, which also has a sedating effect.
