I take both Xanax and Depakote. I have been taking Depakote for 7 months and I just started taking Xanax with it. I also take an anti-depressant. I already am noticing that the Xanax trumps it all! I think I will stop taking my Depakote and take my Xanax and anti-depressant. I never liked Depakote because I get extremely fatiqued while on it and I really do not know what the hell it is doing to me anyways. In my case I feel so bad that I do not care about addiction right now and I just want to feel normal. Xanax I feel was made for some and not others. If you experience so much anxiety that it makes you break down and cry, then I suggest Xanax. Forget what people say and if it helps that is all that matters. Depression and anxiety are nothing to mess around with. I hope this helped.

∙ 13y agoYes you can! i have been prescribed both Depakote and Valium and Depakote and Klonopin! They are used by my psychiatrist to treat my bi-polar disorder! Although I find that the Benzos are much more effective than the Depakote is, I have never had any reaction to taking both at the same time. As a matter of fact I usually take both medications in unison.

You really shouldn't be on a prescription for Adderall and Xanax at the same time. It's possible that Adderall could potentiate the effects of the xanax. That means that if you mix them, you normal dose of Xanax could knock you out. It also depends on if you are taking Adderall because you have been diagnosed with ADD. The effects of Adderall are different for people who do not have ADD.

Seriously.. I could counsel you on what to stop taking, and what you can take and have a few beers, but I'm not going to. Drinking with Xanax and/or Klonopin has killed people before, and will kill them again. I would say if you only had one or the other on board and had 3-6 beers you're going well over the suggested amount (which is none). But on one of those drugs you would probably be OK, just more inebriated. Don't mix 2 drugs like Xanax and Klonopin with booze. Or if you really must, ask your health care provider. Come on, seriously. You're asking on the internet about a cocktail that could put you under. And, if you're on Depakote-- you're aware alcohol withdrawals, and even just slight hangovers can trigger seizures, right?

yes you can take depakote while driving. I take depakote for seizures, however if you are diagnosed with epilepsy it is a good idea to not drive for 60 days so the medicine has time do control your condition.

I have been taking the xanax for 12 years so my detox would be pronounced. If it has been a month then it will take a fairly short amount of time.
