Well...I just did (considering that the z pack stays in your system for 5 days past the last dose...got 3 days to go)...and my stomach is hurting. Similar to gas pains. Then again, maybe it wasn't the wisest thing to do considering I have plant Allergies. I never have taken echinacea before and probably won't again.

I was diagnosed with Lyme disease, and also another tick borne illness responsible for digestive issues (mainly constipation). I've been on both antibiotics for almost a month now, and you can be on them. The only trouble I've had is constant nausea. My doctor recommended taking probiotics with it as well.

Azithromycin is bacteriostatic at low concentration and bacteriostatic in high concentration. Cefixime is bactericidal drug. So at times they can be combined and at times they may not be combined. There are few preparations available, which have combination of both the antibiotics. Such combinations should be considered as irrational.

This is one of the most tricky question and most probably asked by the subject expert in pharmacology. Azithromycin is bacteriostatic in lower dose and bacteriocidal in higher dose. Then amoxicillin should not be given with lower dose of azithromycin. So amoxicillin can be given with higher dose of azithromycin. As then both will be bacteriocidal for most of the infections. But then, there will be incidences, when the bacteria may be relatively drug resistant and then azithromycin may act as a bacteriostatic antibiotic. In such cases amoxicillin may go to waste as an antibacterial.
