AAS degrees are designed for students who plan to enter the workforce right after graduating. You can go to a 4-year college after getting an AAS degree, but you will still have to complete 4 years of classes. I'm not sure what an AAS degree is but you can transfer certain classes from a community college to a four year college. You might not get all the credits to transfer but you can get a lot of the basic classes transferred. If you are going to a four year college for a particular degree they want you to take the specific classes for that degree at their school. In most instances an AAS (Associate of Applied Science) degree will transfer in whole or part to a four-year university. There are many AAS degrees that are fully transferable to four year institutions, however as the above contributor has stated, you must check with both institutions particular to your program of study. Only if you qualified for acceptance to the school from the beginning, you are able to gain entrance to this school if you did not go to the two year college. Had already meet their requirements and did not need the help of going to the two year college.

By this you would have ether taken all the required courses to gain entrance into any college or university .You did this by taking only the classes that would get you into the university etc. This can be done at a public school, a school that only has a curriculum set up for entrance to public or private universities is known as a baccalaureate school. They teach nothing but college courses, IE no auto shop.

It depends on the college. Most do, but some colleges only let in a very small number of transfer students. Call the college you are interested in and ask about their transfer policy. And you would, of course, need to be accepted to the college first.
