Technically if you could change the numbers of protons of any element to the numbers of protons in gold (79), then yes, that would create gold. This was long a dream of the early alchemists.

It can only be done, however, in cyclotrons, where the nuclei of an element can be bombarded with high-energy protons. Any tiny amounts of gold created would cost enormously more to create than you would make selling the gold.

Number of protons and in gold and silver?

Silver has 47 protons and gold has 79 protons.

How many numbers of protons in gold?

The atomic number of gold (Au) is 79, therefore each gold atom contains 79 protons in its nucleus. The atomic number is the number of protons for each element.

How many numbers of protons are in gold?

Gold atoms have an estimate of 79 protons. Gold atoms have six energy levels and within the fourth energy level is where the most protons are included with 32 protons. There also 118 number of neutrons in the gold atom as well.

What kind of atom has 79 protons in its nucleus?

An atom's atomic number gives its number of protons in its nucleus. Checking the periodic table, we see that gold's atomic number is 79. Thus, gold is the element with 79 protons.

What element has 47 protons in its nucleaus?

Gold-The number of protons is the same as an elements atomic number.

What is the number of proton in gold?

Use your periodic table of elements. The number to the top left of each atom (its 'atomic number') is also the number of protons in the atom's nucleus. In the case of gold (Au), that number is 79.

What is the mass number fr gold?

Gold (Au) has a mass of 196.96655 amu. Actually the mass number if gold is dependent on the number of neutrons in the mix. Gold has 79 protons and the isotope that gold is at the time will determine the mass number. So, mass number = # of protons + # of neutrons...this is for any element.

Gold has an atomic number of 79. What does the 79 mean?

The number 79 means that there are 79 protons in the nucleus of an atom of gold. It is the number of protons/electrons in that atom (I say protons/electrons because there are an equal amount of both; i.e. 79 protons 79 electrons)

What is the symbol that equals 79 protons?

The number of protons of an atom is equal to its atomic number, and element number 79 is gold (Au).

How many protons neutrons and electrons are there in a gold atom?

In an atom of gold, there are 79 protons and 79 electrons. The number of neutrons for gold may vary by isotope.

How many protons and neutrons and electrons does the element gold have?

In a regular sample of the element of gold, meaning no change done to it, then there will be 79 protons and 118 neutrons

How many electrons does a gold atom contain?

The elements in the Periodic Table are arranged in order by atomic number. The atomic number of gold (Au) is 79. Atomic number is the number of protons in the nucleus of the atoms of that element. So gold atoms have 79 protons in their nuclei. In a neutral atom, the number of electrons is equal to the numbers of protons. So a neutral gold atom has 79 electrons.
