No. If you want to go to the wider 55 series tire then you need to go to a size 225/55-15. A 195/55-15 would be 6.17% smaller in diameter and you never want to go beyond a 3% difference. The 225/55-15 tire would be only 0.97% smaller which is as close as you can get to the OEM size.
You can substitute these tries if need be. But if you do this your car will be off balance.
I would put it on the back if possible. It's not a lot different, but over time it could cause more wear on the transaxle.
195/60/r15, 205/55/r15, 205/50/r16, 225/45/r17..... this information is also located inside the gas filler door The correct tire size for this car is 195 65 R15.
Can you put a 215 70 r15 tire and a 215 65 r15 tire on same car
You can substitute 195/55-16 or 175/65-15 but your speedometer will be off with either size. My advice is to stick with the OEM size which was computer designed for your car to give the best mileage, handling, traction, and ride.
If you use 185/75-15 it will work but barely. Your speedometer will read 58.2 at a true 60 mph. I would not advise this swap as your car will handle poorly and your stopping distance will increase.
Look at the sticker that is located at the left front door latch. It will tell you what tires are Ok for your car. Mine has a P235/75 R15.
Yes you can. The first number on the tire size is big the tire is from bead to bead. Your car will sit just a bit lower and you speedometer will read a little fast.
No, this is a very bad substitute. You cannot go from a 50 series to a 65 series on this car if the 215/50-17 is the OEM size. You can go with a 195/55-17 which is a perfect swap or a 205/55-17 which although not perfect is acceptable.ANS 2 - He's not even talking about the same RIMsize -R15 and R17 ! - NO way can these be substituted.
Yes. I just recently got 195/45r14 for my car a little nervous they wouldn't fit when I got them they fit great the tires before were 185/65r14. Fit and work properly are two different things. Of course they will fit but this is not a good fit. The 195 tire is 2.125% larger in overall diameter. Your speedometer will read 58.7 at a true 60 mph. This is an acceptable compromise but one I personally would not make. A much better fitting tire would be 205/60-15.
look at your current tires you have now, as long as all of the tire dimensions match on all tires, it will work. EX. if all of your tires are 195(width) 75(height) and R14 (diameter), then they will be compatible, but if you have 195 75 R16 on three tires, and 195 75 14 on one, one tire will be 2 inches smaller in diameter and your car will be leaning to one edge.
No, this is not a good substitute at all. This swap is a 4.34% difference in specifications which is never good. You should never go beyond a 3% difference. Your speedometer will be off, and your car will handle differently.
