no The games do not work on the same console so it is more than just the different networks Besides both networks have plenty of people using the networks
psn and xbox live are restricted to only psn or live, they are unable to cross so no; but it would be AMAZING if they did that would be awesome.

∙ 12y agoYou could play PSN on a PS3 while an Xbox 360 was connected to the same internet in your house just as easy as a person next door could be on cable playing there PS3 or Xbox 360, while you are on cable playing your device. The PS3 can not be on Xbox live and the PSN is not available for the Xbox 360

∙ 12y agoNo they do not. Xbox will go trough Xbox Live as PS3 will go trough the PlayStation Network. PC goes trough IWNet.

Why doesn't Microsoft want people having Xbox live for the original Xbox?
Its not that they wanted them to have it but the orignal xbox live was out of date and costed them to run out of date servers that was not needed and not used as much as the newer servers.
