Not really. It is possible to kill a deer with a 22, but it would have to be really close and just in the exact right place. The only place that would do enough damage to kill, would be the brain. This can be a tricky area to hit, but I would recommend either a 20 gauge or 12 gauge shotgun with slugs in it.
yes, i live on a farm and somtimes we have to shoot a sick cow. i should be using a higher caliber gun but a 22 work great! if you know were to hit the deer in the head right with a 22lr you will drop it in its tracks!
Yes u can. But not in nj. There is no rifle hunting in nj. The closest thing to a rifle u can use in nj is a muzzleloader that is .50 caliber in size... A 22-250 is sufficient size to kill deer I have seen it done. The deer dropped rite there where it was standing.
Yes a .223 caliber remington rifle is a good gun. They are very acurate and can kill bear, wild boar and many more. I have expierimented this myself. So to all of the people who say a .223 is a horible guns you can suck it!
22 mag would be illegal to hunt deer with anywhere in the US. Check with your local DNR to find the requirements for the area you intend to hunt. A 22 mag is not a large enough caliber to insure a quick and humane kill. As a tip, if caught hunting with the wrong cal., the DNR agent can seize your weapon-gear-and vehicle. A large fine-and or imprisonment-plus the loss of hunting rights can result. It is not worth taking a chance and listening to "friends". Check with the local DNR.
Yes. From game and parks site: Legal Weapons for Firearm Season: .22-caliber or larger rifle that deliver at least 900 foot-pounds of energy at 100 yards. The vast majority of 223 rounds deliver over 900 ft lbs.
It is Not Legal to use a 223. in Nebraska
If the deer is hit in a vital spot.
Yes, it is legal. Texas does not permit the use of RIMFIRE guns for deer hunting, but any centerfire is legal. Wh ile it is legal, I personally do not recommend it. Yes, the .223 can kill a deer. It will also wound a lot of deer. It is simply too small to insure a clean kill.
It looks like if it is a centerfire caliber you can use it. So, yes you can use a .223 caliber rifle.
Deer slugs are the shotgun shells to use when deer hunting.
When you are deer hunting you usually use a 20 gage or a 12 gage and with squirrel you usually use a 22 gage........ and yes the size of the target!!
It depends on what you mean. If you mean legally, many U.S. states require a caliber larger than .22 or 223, however, that IS legal in some states. If you mean what caliber will kill a deer, almost any rifle caliber will, but .22 or .223 is questionable, which is why many states prohibit that for deer hunting.
no
It can be, if you are using a slug
To me, i am going to make a guess. I am guessing that the average ammount for hunting a deer with a bow, is about 10%. people use guns now a days.
Deer hunting blinds are used as camouflage for a hunter. It is designed to blend into an environment so the deer or whatever else you are hunting cannot see you easily. Another use is for bird watching as to not statle the birds in their natural surroundings.
No- But to my knowlege- it is against the law to use such a device when hunting.
In most states, half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset.
One can use Deer Scent for help with hunting. They use the deer scent to coax a deer into coming near where they are. For this to work properly, one must be as scent free as possible, or the deer will smell the human as well.
