Can you use a condensor designed for R22 with an evaporator designed for R410A?

It depends on what you want to do with the sytem. If it is and older condensor contact the supplier and ask for specifications on what the condensor does in 410A. It only depends on the different pressures in the system en the condensoing capacity at R410A.

Can a R410A evaporator be used with a R22 condensor?

No, R410a runs higher pressures.

My air handler is over 20 years old and needs replacement and my outside AC unit is fine although it's 15 years old so can I get an air handler that will take R-22 gas now and in the future R-410A?

410a condensers are much larger and need larger evaporator coils in the Furnace. R22 is so expense now, because it is no longer being produced... if you have a leak in the future you will wish you replaced the whole system now. While it might be possible to do make this work, with the aid of a TXV mettering device, I would strongly suggest you replace the entire unit now.

Can a R410A condensor be used with a R22 evaporator coil?

No, R410a runs higher pressures.

What kind of Freon does a home air conditioner use?

Most home systems use R-22 refrigerant. R-410a, known as PURON, is also an increasingly used refrigerant. If you see a pink sticker on the outdoor unit, it will say on the tag with the model and serial numbers r22 or 410a. "Freon" is a trademark of DuPont, and is NOT the real name of refrigerant. "Freon" was R12 and is no longer made.

Can you use a r410a condenser brand new with a r22 air handler brand new?

No. r410a runs at a much higher pressure.

Why are there more safety precautions with r410a than with other popular refrigerants like r22 and r404a?

The pressure of R-410A is significantly higher than other refrigerants R-22 and R-404A. This does not mean that R-410A, or equipment containing R-410A is unsafe. It does mean that technicians must use AC equipment; cylinders and service tools have been re-engineered to handle these higher pressures.

How many pounds of r22 are needed for a 2.5 ton ac unit?

2lbs

Do you have to flush a r-22 when changing to a 410a?

You cannot charge s R22 system with R410A. You need to replace the Compressor, evaporator coil and check the piping sizes for R410. Also the oils have to be replaced. Vinay

What should the suction pressure be on a 85 degree day on a R22 split unit?

60psi

Can you fill 410a freon into R22 system?

You could, if you don't mind destroying the refrigeration system. Different types of refrigerants operate at different system pressures, and also transport different compressor lubricants through the system.
