There is a product of Nintendo called the wii cleaner kit u can get it from wall mart or game stop or from any game place. Im planning on getting it because my wii doesnt read some ssbb characters,it stops loading and says that the disk can not be read and my ssbb disk is not dirty or scrached alot. so im asuming its the eye from the wii is dirty... a dirty eye is called a "Blind Eye" .And i tried the regular disk cleaners or laser lens cleaner on the wii but it didnt work.THE CAUSE OF a blind eye is probebly the times when your wii is droped and the disk is still spinning this can cause major damege to the eye because the disk pushes against the eye while still spinning making scrathes on it. OR the smoke, cooking smoke, dirt, and dust, or invisable polution in your home might make the inside of the wii dirty. U can also send it to a place where it gets cleaned but im not sending mine cuz ther's just an easy wii cleaner at a GameStop, it usually takes about a week for them to send it back to u if u ship it off. im used to opening and reasembaling parts together so im like specalist and so im thinking about opening the wii my self and cleaning it my self. YOUR'E WECOME!!

one of two reasons 1 The disk is scratched or dirty 2 the laser is dirty or out of calibration I would check disk condition first and clean with a soft cloth, if that didnt work I would use some compressed air and blow off the laser and as a last resort as it could damage your system, use a soft cloth and lightly wipe the laser lens off. use little to no presure as it could damage the laser beyond repair.
