The answer is a definite, no. PAL stands for 'phase alternate lines', which means every other scan line on the TV is of the opposite phase in relation to the NTSC standard. IT really looks bad when viewed on an American made TV.
The other part is that our resolution is 525 lines and theirs is around 625.
I won't even go into the sound portion, but it's much the same with different modulation systems and frequencies.
In other words, it's been tried before and the results are the same. It's a big no-go.
