If the voltage and amperage is correct, it could be done. However, every manufacturer will recommend that you use a battery type they specifically list for that piece of equipment. This is especially so for modern farm tractors, which often use electronic computerised engine and component controls. Using an improper battery causes a risk of damage to these sensitive electronic systems.

Not a problem for a short duration but don't forget, the tractor battery's are also a HEAVY DUTY type. As in the lead plates and sturdier internal components are padded, insulated, etc, against the heavy vibration and jolts you would normally get from a tractor or semi truck.

The auto's suspensions take up quite a bit of the normal jolts, vibrations, etc, before it gets to you or the body of the auto.

No.Another View: It may depend on the state laws of your state but, as a general rule, you do not require a license to operate a farm tractor on the public roads while going from field-to-field or farm-to-field. However, simply operating a tractor does NOT give you permission to use it as general transportation.

What are auto batteries made to use for?

Auto batteries are made to use in cars. They are what operates your car. If you did not have a battery you would not be able to run the engine in the car. You also would not be able to turn on the lights. The "Primary" use of an auto battery is to start the vehicle and then store the electricity for re-use. Then the generator/alternator can keep up with the lights, etc. If the generator/alternator dies then the auto can usually run for a short time on the battery reserve.
