The Droid cell phone really seems to represent the new wave in phones. Where apps were a fun bonus to owning an iPhone, the Droid is all about the apps. Some people play with their Droids constantly without ever having to make a call. From useful apps like the Google Image finder to fun ones like the Star Wars lightsaber, the Droid represents a new era in cell phones where we're not just playing with phones, we're calling people with the machines we use for games and internet searches and map searching.
No, when you are on a contract you can not use phone cards. Thats sort of true. You might also want to check out www.americanroaming.com I used it in my deactivated Benz Car phone.

The Droid in generally is pretty user friendly. If you just want to do the basics, it is relatively simple, and easy to learn. You can also choose apps based on if they are easy for you personally.

No you don't because if you told the carrier your phone you jail broke your phone it could get bricked. Bricked means its deactivated and you can't use it anymore. Technically jailbreaking you phone is legal but if you buy any free apps with it then they brick you phone if they find out.

Open the first app. Touch the "Home" icon at the bottom of the Droid. Navigate to and open the 2nd app. To switch between the two apps, use the "Home" icon, NOT the "Back" icon, which will close your app.
No. The Droid is a Verizon exclusive and does not use a SIM Card so it's not as easy as unblocking the phone and inserting a SIM from AT&T.
Droid is an abbreviation for Android. If you are referring to the Cell phone Operating system and phone lines. Android is the Operating system the phones use while a Droid is a Specific brand or line of phone which is also licensed by George Lucas
Yes you can. When a phone is deactivated, all that changes is you cannot use the phone to make phone calls or send texts from it unless you put an app that uses a Wi-Fi signal to do those two functions. All apps for all phone operating systems that work in a Wi-Fi environment will still work just fine.
Cell phone apps are not illegal. There are thousands of legitimate cell phone apps on the market that can be implemented for every day use. The only apps that may be illegal are apps that may violate copyright or trademark infringements.
