The best way to kill roaches is with roach spray or roach bombs. These sprays and bombs can be purchased at stores such as Walmart.
It is possible for Dcon to kill roaches as well. Though it is doubtful it will kill a infestation it is advised that someone use a proper roach removal method. as well

It definitely kills mice! We sprayed it on my daughter's pet mice's wheel b/c it was squeaking, and it apparently killed one of them. I think it poisoned her, so sad. I threw out the can and will never use it to cook ever again. I would be VERY careful with it around dogs. I personally would not use it.

Sanitation would help, clean areas with grease and food debris. Eliminate water source(moisture), bait with approved roach bait killer Maxforce Roach Bait( ask pest control company). Dust voids with dust bait such as avert dry flowable.
