Yes, but it won't do anything. I always do that.. I have like 10 gp, then I tamper it so it's 2147m.. It's just a waste of time because when you buy stuff that's 11 gp or more, it won't let you buy it. You can make YouTube videos after tampering, but people won't believe it's real unless you got the best of the best gear!
