Yes, unscented lotion is great for new tattoos, because unlike ointments such as a and d or aquafor if you put on "too much" your skin will just absorb it. Too much ointment can suffocate skin and do all sorts of nasty things. Ointment is only recommended for the first few days at most (I only use lotion), and be sure your not leaving the plastic wrap on for more than an hour after you get your tat.
I would have to know what you mean by "bad tattoo". If you mean a tattoo that you may or may not have gotten from a dirty artist in a dirty environment, and it's starting to look infected (swelling, irritation, red/purple/green color, oozing skin, etc), there's not much help for you than to go to the doctor and get treated for infection. If you got the tattoo at a clean, reputable shop, and it doesn't have any symptoms of infection, then take care of it like you would a normal tattoo. Here are a few steps:1. Wash your hands with liquid, unscented, antibacterial soap (unscented Dial soap will do fine)2. Wash your tattoo with your clean hands with warm water and the same type of soap you washed your hands with. Do not scrub it, just use your fingertips.3. Gently pat dry with a towel, don't rub it.4. Keep it out of the sun and refrain from submerging it in water for long periods.5. Use an unscented lotion (like Aveeno baby lotion. I recommend Aquaphor though) to keep it moisturized, just work it in like a lotion with clean hands. If you follow these steps, you will have a beautifully healed tattoo. But like I said, if it's showing any signs of infection, go to the doctor asap.
Once you take the bandage off (about 2-4 hours after being tattood) you don't have to reapply any other dressing to it. You should leave it open, apply some unscented lotion / ointment and let it breath to heal. Also wear lose fitting clothing over your tattoo so it won't get damage from having material rub over it too much.
* After calling Sanofi-Aventis this afternoon, I was advised that Shepard's cream lotion has been discontinued at the end of 2008. * Try eBay. You can very often find discontinued products there.
i dont found
The best natural lotion for shingles is Dari Natural's Body Lotion. It's made from unrefined shea butter and olive oil. It's very gentle and won't cause any irritation. They also have a variety of scented lotions, but in your case I would recommend using an unscented one. Good luck!
Wait at least 2 hours. Your artist will tell you how long to leave the bandage on. Listen to them! When you do take the bandage off, clean the area with mild soap and water using your fingers and pat dry with paper towels. DO NOT USE A WASHCLOTH OR BATHROOM TOWEL TO WASH OR DRY YOUR NEW TATTOO! Allow the tattoo to air dry for several minutes before applying any ointment or lotion and only use a small amount. A little goes a long way. Frequently apply small amounts of unscented lotion that does not contain alcohol or sunblock.
Rib Cage.
You dont need any after care lotion for ear piercings. Natural sea salt and water is fine.
