If a cake filling recipe requires lemon juice, can lime juice be used instead?
Only if you want a vanilla flavored cake instead of a lemon cake!
Yes.
no
To substitute lemon juice powder for 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, briskly stir 1 teaspoon powder into 2 tablespoons water. To add extra lemon flavor to baked goods, use 1 tablespoon lemon juice powder for each cup of flour. For lemon glaze, use 1 to 2 teaspoons per cup of confections' sugar.
i think you can use lemonade or lemon juice... it's the citric acid that's important for the texture... I even mixed a blend of other juices once that must have had enough acidity not to ruin the recipe... I've heard apple juice doesn't work as a substitute though.
