I have seen it done but it is really in extremely poor taste. One should dress modestly when attending Mass. Many people dress as if they were going to the beach rather than the House of God.

The Roman Catholic Church doesn't have a particular dress code. But it is adviced not to wear clothes which might distract the attention of the faithful. (For e.g. Sleevless shirts/ tops, short tops, caps, revealing tops for girls, t-shirts with vulgar sayings / sybmols ) Church is a place where people gather for a celebration and pray. One needs to maintain a high level of decency in church.
A simple dress with nice lines and of one color that isn't too flashy or bright will do nicely. Be sure you choose a dress with sleeves. sleeveless dresses aren't appropriate for such an occasion. If you have a nice sleeveless dress that fits the occasion otherwise, be sure to include a wrap, light blazer or sweater of the same color as the dress.
No, as the fashion police will run you over with their fashion police van and shoot you DOWN! Don't do it!.
A long sleeved tee shirt and tights - both in identical color - look great under a short dress (sleeveless or short sleeves). Very classy and soo comfortable!!
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) can wear whatever they want. However, they are encouraged to dress modestly, and most faithful church members do. The church's standards of dress require the shoulders to be covered, which typically does not allow for tank tops or sleeveless shirts of any kind. One church-published pamphlet says, "wear clothing that covers the shoulder and avoid clothing that is low-cut in the front or the back or revealing in any other manner". Most church sponsored youth activities and dances enforce a dress code which requires clothing to have sleeves. A typical Mormon would not wear tank tops on a regular basis, but might for certain activities, such as a trip to a water park or beach. Check out the "Related Links" below to learn more.

In the PCG, we believe in honoring God and his Temple. It really depends on the church as to how strict the dress code is. Most churches however, you will see the men in suits or nice shirts and slacks on Sunday and the women wear dresses or skirts. Not many women wear sleeveless dresses or shirts to church. Your dresses or skirts are expected to go to your knees. Some churches find dress pants acceptable.. like I said it just depends on the church.
