everyones different... mine broke without dilation
No. I have been dilated to 3 cm for over a week now. I was at 4 cm when I was induced with my first. My doctor said that one lady came in dilated to 10 cm (that's completely dilated) and was not in labor yet. She had to be induced.
it was about an hour to 2 hours after the doctor broke my water that my daughter was born. I only pushed for 30 minutes.
Means your 4cm dilated and they can see your water through your cervix. So it can break any time. Just left labor and delivery tonight I'm also 4cm and bulging with baby number 3!!
If you are between 2 and 3 centimeters dilated, you are very close to active labor. You should walk around and stay close to the doctor's office or hospital.
i went to the dr yesterday and am .5 cm diolted and mt cervix is short its at 2.1 do you think i will go to term? i gess there is a swab test that can determine if i will have the baby with in the next 2 weeks. is this true?
About the size of a quarter.
This is normal! However, once you become 7 cm dilated is time to get to the hospital. Even if your water breaks you don't have to go to the hospital until your contractions are 5-7 minutes apart.
You are already in the first stages of labor. It could become hard labor in a matter of minutes or days. Keep a close eye on things and get to the clinic or hospital (or call your doctor or midwife if you are having a home birth) as soon as thigns begin to change.
The cervix is considered fully dilated at 10 centimeters.
Is 4 cm considered active labor ?
No you have to wait for 10 cm.
Nothing really. You are just 3 cm closer to getting to 10. listen for them to tell you your membranes are bulging...which means your water is about to break...mine broke at 5 cm...but I suppose everyone is different. Good Luck
